Well, friends, I had hoped I would have done my part to accept the several awards you so kindly have awarded me.

But my human got in the way again!

Well, NOT ONLY SHE’S LEAVING ME for ten days, but she monopolized the laptop in the last couple of days!

She says she needed to do a lot of work before she left. I don’t see what kind of work she can possibly be doing, other that making sure my blog is up to date but who can understand those humans.

And tonight, she was packing so I made sure I sat in or around the suitcase at all times to show my displeasure at her leaving.

Not impressed

The end result, I still don’t have a post to thank you for thinking of me and giving me such wonderful awards.

It’s all my human’s fault.

The human was kinda heartbroken so I figured I’d take possession of it to make her happy again. Ceiling Cat knows she’s going through a lot lately.

In Memory of Toby: Black Cat Appreciation Day

I learned through my good friend Texas, that today is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

My human was very excited when she learned about this and told me I must blog about Toby,  my Colombian brother.

I never met Toby but my human said she got him at the rescue shelter.  Nobody wanted him cause he was black.

She immediately fell in love with the little fella who was about 5 or 6 weeks or maybe older, no one knew exactly.  He had been found wandering on the streets -probably abandoned cause he was black, and was starving so he was probably smaller for his age.

Anyway, my human adopted him and he got to be a big, fierce-looking cat but the most kind of cats, says my human.  She tells me everybody said he looked like a black panther.

We don’t have a lot of pictures because that was a long, long time ago, way before digital cameras and smartphones.

The pictures are scanned so the colours are a bit off but here they are!

Toby is now gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but my human still remembers him every day.

You know how WordPress changed the way it showed the notifications a while back?

Among the new features, there’s an “unread” option on the side bar.  Out of a hunch, I decided to click on it just now.

And what do you know? I had a whole bunch of unread comments from you!

Sorry about that, lovely friends.  I’ll fix that right now.

And while we’re on the subject of apologies, I know I have been delinquent on replying to the award nominations.  Now that I’m done with the dental issues, I’ll get around doing that too.

Yes! Traveller and her kittens have a forever home!
We are SO happy. This is awesome news!

I wanted to let everyone know that Traveller the cat and her 3 kittens have all been lovingly adopted and the best part is, they left in pairs. (See post 7/11/12 Three Little Kittens)

Traveller and Joan of Arc now live with a lovely set of parents in Queens  while Sonny and Cher went to another young couple whose lives revolve around music. I can just see all 4 of them harmonizing their own rendition of ‘I Got You Babe.’                             I’m especially thrilled for Traveller since now she knows her little family are all beneath safe and warm roofs and she even gets to live with the one she was most concerned about.  How great is that and so Italian. If you remember, Joan of Arc was a bit of a rebel causing her mother constant anxiety. I’m glad to report she’s become a little more docile in…

Great news!

I’m back home and it all went well!

We had a bit of a rough start as I didn’t want to go inside my carrier.  I know, I know.  It was for the best but oh, friends, that loaner carrier from the pet hospital has too many not so good scents.  It was freaking me out.  Not even with my own blanket, which my human had put in there to help with the road trip I could bring myself to get in there.

After a few tries, my human convinced me to go in and the dreaded trip to the hospital started.

My human sister decided to accompany my human mom and me which was a good thing cause if you think I was upset, my poor human was even in a worse state.  I decided to be very brave to help her feel better but still, she got that leaky eyes problem again, when I had to go inside and she was not allowed to come with me.

I gotta tell you, I wasn’t happy.  My front leg was still somewhat tender from yesterday and then they pinched me some more and put some tubes in me.  I didn’t like that at all.  But then, I went to sleep and I don’t remember much after that.

When I woke up again, I had the taste of blood on my mouth and that wasn’t fun.  I also felt “funny” which brought vague memories of a time long ago when something else was done to me at another hospital.  Not precisely the happiest of memories.
